Derek Payne, originally from Baton Rouge, LA returns to theatre to entertain audiences with his soulful vocal delivery. Derek's singing style is reminiscent of the great balladeers of

the 70's and 80's with a new school flavor and is complimented for his ability to sing in various octaves. He is proud to have introduced many people to theatre through his karaoke company and is also Ujima's website and graphic designer. He is an original cast member of  Love and Street Corner Harmony and is most remembered for his portrayal of James Brown.
